It sounds like a great idea to be your own Travel Agent and book your own trips to exotic locations, but can that REALLY help you achieve financial freedom? The travel industry is obviously huge and getting bigger, but so is the competition. There are several other travel MLM's that I can think of, along with an inumerable number of ways to make online arrangements for yourself. I'm sure that you have heard of Priceline, Expedia, and Travelocity. YTB Travel gives you the opportunity to become a licensed travel agent which allows you to book for yourself and others, but this is not the main way to make money. Like any MLM the key is Recruiting! You have no choice, you must recruit constantly because the reality is that most people you do get in, won't do much. They may book their own travel, but how many trips can they really take? Being a Registered Travel Agent with credentials will cost you around $500 with YTB and there is around a $50 per month charge for the replicated website and to remain active. The compensation plan is relatively straight forward and easy to understand, but not so easy to make money with. As I stated earlier, it is all about recruiting! Everytime your Power Team grows by 6 you receive a $1000 bonus that is paid weekly. You do not have to sponsor 3 reps that then sponsor 3 reps. You also left off the residual income facts. The compensation plan is mainly based on the number of people coming into the program through your organization. Your first 6 will earn you $50 a piece up front and then on your 7th person you will start making $100, This is where your "Power Team" starts. If you make it to having a "Power Team," everytime your Power Team grows by 6 you receive a $1000 bonus that is paid weekly. ONE HUNDRED Power Team reps equals a $10,000 bonus whether you sponsored any of them or not. Wow, only 100! people? In my opinion, that is a lot of people to make only $10K. This now starts to be some real money though, but if you are fortunate enough to recruit some heavy hitters, they will eventually break away to their own "Power Team" and this does not count toward your commission! One of my sources, who did make some money, expressed his frustration with this. He worked hard to find some real winners for YTB Travel and just when he started to do ok, they broke away and his income dropped drastically. He also told me that because of the way the Bonuses are paid, that the main focus is on recruiting and people are often left to flounder with very little training and upline support.
