Dave is a favorite of many christian organizations and apparently does a lot of work in that area. He is also a well known author. He is best known for his books dealing with financial advice. Some believe his ideas to be a little old fashioned, but it is basically good common sense.
He is a proponent of the "Snowball effect", this is his strategy to eliminate debt. In a nutshell he advices to pay off your smallest debt first, after it is paid, apply that money to the next smallest and so on. This strategy is the exact opposite of what most debt elimination experts suggest.
The overall theme of his radio show and books is to pay cash for everything. And that definitely includes his products, he doesn't give the advice away. I would recommend Dave Ramsey as a comparison or alternative to the conventional thinking on Financial Matters.
